Self-confessed Brit-rock nerd, You Am I guitarist and acclaimed singer, songwriter in his own right, Davey Lane has been honing his craft for close to two decades now – working with greats of the music industry such as Crowded House, Jimmy Barnes, Robyn Hitchcock, Masters’ Apprentices, and The Saints. We asked Davey about his first guitar

Davey is currently working on his next solo album which will feature some collaborations with many of the artists he has worked with in the past. He returns from the UK soon to perform with one of his most popular side projects Thee Marshmallow Overcoat on Sunday August 25th at The Spotted Mallard.

Christened Thee Marshmallow Overcoat during their first gig Ashley Naylor, Davey Lane & Brett Wolfenden all have an intrinsic passion for ‘60s R&B, Garage, Freakbeat and Psychedelia. The list of artists for whom they span include The Stooges, The Yardbirds, The Who, The Easybeats, The Small Faces, The Kinks, Manfred Mann, The Byrds and much more.

This trio’s roots formed as an offshoot to backing the late Master’s Apprentice Jim Keay’s for whom they had recorded and performed live with. The reputations of the band members speak for themselves. As members of well-established bands they have extended their talents to the likes of artists such as Todd Rundgren, Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Deniz Tek and Robyn Hitchcock but to name a few.

Thee Marshmallow Overcoat will perform for over 2 hours in this intimate setting at The Spotted Mallard. Tickets HERE
